Wood House

The house

A home on a small infill site in north-west London, built from cross-laminated timber.

The structure is also the finish. Visual-grade spruce CLT forms the walls, ceilings and floors, left exposed rather than hidden behind plasterboard. Parts were cut on a CNC, and much of the furniture and joinery was made from leftover material.

Designed and largely self-built by 538 Works. Featured on Grand Designs, Channel 4.
